Project: Arnold, Thomas and Becker "The System"

I had the privilege to act as CG Lead / Concept Artist on this fabulous creative campaign that reimagines personal injury law through a scifi lens. While working at Atmos Studios in Sydney, the team and I were tasked with creating something that felt like the final act of a sci-fi feature film.

The brief was to create an unsettling machine that was built over decades, patched together and ever present, ever watching. A metaphor for how big corporations are often perceived.

The whole film was an intensely handcrafted piece of work, with thousands of individual tech components that our small team modelled, catalogued and ran through a Redshift proxy system driven by Houdini data in Maya.

It was an incredible opportunity to build a grimy, atmosphere-laden world drawing on 50 years of cinematic influence.

In addition to leading the project, I was tasked with conceptualising 2 of the robotic entities that inhabit this dark oppressive space. The robotic eye beast and the spider robot that fixes and moves "criminal circuits" so that they can't be "prosecuted/turned off". It was a fun, exciting bit of jamming with a very enthusiastic director.

In addition to being lead and doing the concepts, I also modelled and surfaced the Eye beast, lit a bunch of shots and surfaced most of the environment and system wall technology using a procedural approach to get the detail right in there.
